Danny:
I have replaced the wood Samson posts on Pygmalion #567 earlier this year -- when I found that the wooden posts had allowed water into the 3/8 plywood headliner as well as the inner core of the deck.
I've used the SS posts to anchor out a few times since... here is a like to my project images.

A few have mentioned that the wood samson posts are better secured than the SS ones... but reviewing how mine wood samson posts were attached to the rotting anchor bulkhead with a couple of brass bolts -- I think that the SS posts are just a strong.
I did have to remove / replace both the anchor bulkhead (with marine plywood) and the wet area of the plywood core with more plywood/glass and epoxy.
