Laptop with Rose Point ECS. I carry three aboard can use the Laptop for other things and if it it craps just load ECS and Charts on another Lap Top and keep going. Lap Tops are cheap compared to the boat. All sensors are routed to lap top. Can use official NOAA charts and not a manufacturer renderings.

Jay my setup is as follows.

Furuno GPS

Furuno FA100 AIS

Furuno SC 30 Sat Compass

Furuno Depth sounder

Furuno NAV Tex Reciver

Furuno wind direction and speed

All of the above are routed through a Actisense NDC-4 multiplexer then routed to the laptop. All sentences are NMEA 183. This has proven to be a stable platform over the years. I started with Captain Voyager ECS but have switched over to Roas Point ECS.

The Furuno SC 30 sat compass only puts out its sentence as NMEA 2000 I do have to route it through a NMEA 2000 to 183 converter which is the actisense NGW-1
