Does anyone have pics of their heads installed?  I'm concerned about the fit...C-Head appears smaller, and removes some of these concerns, but would like to see the fit on the Airhead, and Nature head.

I've collected Westsail Head photos - very few ... in the members area.

Viewing the CHead model - looks like they use a second 3-5 gallon bucket as a holding tank with a special ventulation top to let the composting finish.  A plus is that the bucket is easy to remove empty and replace.

Looking at the Nature's Head (and I assume the Air Head) you need to turn the whole unit upside down to empty the compost into a plastic bag or your compost pile.

Send in more images of your head to add to my collection.

Ok I see this thread is over 10 Years old!!! I have had a composting head in 2 previous boats and loved them however…I don’t really want to rip out smelly holding tank and stinky head…but I do!

and in fact…I have open space below forepeak bed (that I cannot even climb on, lol have to build a step!)

    soooo what to do lol!!

    1. How many of you have a composting head?!

    2. If so: Did you remove it while in the water?! (Yes thru hulls have to hold & remove them on the hard)

and d’uh I have only been to my boat once since purchase docs went through, so in the 35 degree heat, yep the 1st week of Sept I was out sailing!!! I have a pic (but video to go through with way more!) And did not check holding tank yet - were you scared to look the first time eek!!!

Well, I’m gonna reply to myself again lol and thanks for all the head pictures however, in the Google sort of archive photo albums.

I was hemming and hawing on what to do and I certainly didn’t wanna do it myself, but I decided to remove everything connected with the head and holding tank, as I sat in my boat last few times I was down in Mexico and tried to pretend there’s no smell lol…

And it just does have that smell, plus the holding tank is under the port side of the V-berth I mean yuck! Gross!
so when I realized money for value the labour of the skilled boatyard guys are, I said OK please remove everything connected to the head and glass over the pump out on the deck as well - and he did a beautiful job

and there’s even a picture of him holding the holding tank, which is actually  Long and rectangular about the size of a I guess it looks to be about a foot and half wide by maybe 4 feet long and he’s got it slung over his shoulder like a prize catch! So I’m thrilled.
I can’t wait to get down the boat, probably within the next month and clean up and air it out & check out my new space!!

.  What will I do for now? I’m going to just use a small but the Dometic portable heads that actually I just bought brand new today,  and I’m gonna disassemble it and put it in my big suitcase and fly it down to Mexico lol, that way I can take my time deciding what I want to do with that new found space in the head compartment, which is quite a lot as well as under the v-berth!

and my marina has a really nice secure washroom and even shower area so other than late at night it’s always nice to take a walk up there in the sunshine. Look at the palm trees, the blue water- how lucky just being in an awesome and warm place with your boat in your own marina - is there anything better!

While this site does still have some good information, I wouldn't expect that you'd be likely to get a reply... no matter how many times you reposted the query.  There are very few of us long time owners who still frequent the site. I would suggest that you try one of the Facebook groups for your request.

Yes thank you Jack: strangely I was on Facebook, suddenly I was shut down or banned or whatever they call it (and I, mature adult, was only on boat and astronomy and archaeology sites!) and “you have 180 days to appeal”…huh, appeal what?! I  can’t even find any record of my page and they recognize none of my emails)  …. So wanted them to update this site as there is so much here…. Aaah well I can check out the Facebook site vicariously from my BF’s Facebook…. Just bummed I will miss the day to day stuff…

In all likelihood, your Facebook page was hacked and or duplicated by someone for nefarious purposes, which is why it was blocked.  Log in (If you still can) and do a search for the same name (likely "Shannon Rae") and scroll down and down and down...  If you see one that has the same emoji, you'll know. If so, you can likely recover it.
