I bought Wanderer from her 2nd owner who was a knowledgeable sailor and shipwright at KKMI in Richmond , Ca.. He sailed and maintained her for years before getting too busy with work. When I bought her she needed a new bowsprit , new stainless Rudder Gudgeons and Pintels , a new boomkin …all major repairs that most 40 year old Westsails will need. Very time consuming and expensive …I had all of the repairs done and more. She has had standing rigging replaced as necessary , and there is a box of Norseman terminals on board for all of the standing rigging as needed. She was repowered a few years back with a Volvo MD11c. Power is more than adequate. The engine runs like a swiss watch and looks clean enough to eat off of. Oil changed regularly. Does not smoke at all. Wanderer is basically an un-molested , stock Westsail 32 , that her new owner can upgrade as he/she sees fit. Wanderer comes with a full suit of Tanbark , cruising sails in excellent condition. There are still a few little cosmetic issues to address as the new owner sees fit , but she is a salty , bullitproof Westsail that is ready to sail TODAY.
