“Have you ever heard of the land of beyond,
That dream at the gates of the day?

Alluring it lies at the skirts of the skies,
    and ever so far away;”
Robert Service  from  The Land of the Beyond

Luckily, we all have boats that can get us there.
“There is No Place like home,  But there ARE a lot of places better”.

It is traditional to sail on New Years Day.  I’ll see ya all out there.

Words crafted so elegantly, make me want to hold off on purchasing that "For Sale" sign.

    The dreams live on forever.

Last years top speed for the NY day sail was 2.4k.  I think this year I better put the Yankee back up and have the Drifter ready.   Few crew members are worse than the bored crew member.   I’ll also have my camera and binoculars ready to get pictures and views of the rest of you.    See ya all out there,    Dave

    Dave:

    Thanks for your post.

I have "given" Pygmalion back to the owners estate. I'm not sure what the future holds for Pygmalion

I'm volunteering on the USS Hornet CVS-12 - Ship Restoration team... I've made an album of the work as it has progressed. https://photos.app.goo.gl/ug1RUUC6tccvPznb7

If you are in the SF Bay Area and wish to join the team check out the website. as there is plenty to keep you busy!

I'll continue to admin this web site.

Saraband was out with a crew of 8.   The crew included 2 W-32 owners, 3 ex owners, and 2 wan-a-be’s.  Top speed was 1.6k, but it was one of the top 25 New Year Day sails.  The camera and binoculars were not needed.  Only Richard, on his Alajuela 38, Moonshadow, a circumnavigator, was out sailing with us.          See ya next year perhaps,  Dave
