Westsail 32 Mighty Sparrow - Owner- Jerome Rand

    Some of you may already be familiar with Jerome and Mighty Sparrow. In 2017-2018 Jerome took Mighty Sparrow on a circumnavigation around the five major capes singlehanded non-stop in 271 days. I’ve been corresponding with Jerome and find him to be quite interesting. He lives simply on Sparrow in the boatyard that he works in at Rockland, Maine. He has extensive footage of his travels which give great insight into how our Westsails handle the open ocean. His videos are well narrated and his exuberance is catching and refreshing. 

    His YouTube channel is “Sailing Into Oblivion”  I’ve attached a couple of his clips here. He also does an interesting podcast, all from on his boat. 
    Refreshing. And to see his footage of his adventures in the Southern Ocean, rounding Cape Horn, and the Indian Ocean, makes me proud to own a Westsail.

    My Friend George Gave Me A Copy Of Jerome Rand’s Book, And Found It Interesting, But Left Me Wanting To Know More About His Boat “ Mighty Sparrow”That He Didn’t Mention.

    And Many Other Details. Would Like To Know Hull Number

    Fast Foward Found He Has Videos “ Sailing Into Oblivion “And That Has Cleared Up A Lot.  Plus Ton Of Repect For What He’s Done                                                                        I Tip My Hat To You Sir, Not Just Sailor, But As A “Westsailor”
