W42 deck hatches

    Hi All,

    The refit is coming along. I had Lewmar Ocean series hatches replacing the original hatches. I am replacing the old Lewmars with some new ones. However, I am having bad luck with the quality , poor quality control, of the Lewmars. I have had to return numerous hatches because the main frames not having a flat surface for seating. 

    Has anyone with a W42 used Bomar hatches ? I believe the 100 series cast. If so, then wondering how they fit , etc.?  If I went with the Bomars , I would lean towards the dual opening hatches.

    Aloha George. I replaced all the deck hatches on my WS 43 and added a hatch over the head. Used Lewmar all the way around and had no problems. I went with the ocean series "flat" frames instead of the flanged frames. Wanted to have a little more flexibility on the not perfectly flat decks. They have been in for over a year now and we are pretty happy with them.
