Anyone raise the height of the cockpit drains and engine exhaust their WS28?

    When I am motoring they are all underwater.

    I am thinking of raising everything up a few inches next time she is on the hard.

    And thoughts for or against this?

    my w28 has the cockpit drains about 8" below the water line and this seams just fine to me, but the engine exhaust is just below the deck line.  when i repowered in 2009 the diesel mechanic wanted to relocate the exhaust to just above the water line.  i decided i didnt want another hole in the boat, so it is still up there.  i am not sure about this, but perhaps there would be less risk of carbon monoxide drifting into the cockpit if the exhaust was lower rather than higher.

    let me know when the world trip gets to the most easterly point of australia, so we can arrange a rendezvoux.

    My cockpit drains are just barely above the "new" (loaded for cruising) waterline.  At that, they are barely below the elbow on my cockpit drains.  If I raised the thru-hulls, theyd be higher than my cockpit drains.

    My engine exhaust is a couple inches above the waterline but is frequently under water when heeled, getting bounced around, etc.  Considered raising it during this haulout but never got around to it.  Not sure it needs to be.
