Paul, I do recall fondly the couple that owned W28 #50, Pacific High.  Ivan Murphy was the second owner and he and his wife sailed the boat from Oregon to Mexico, and spent many a year cruising the Gulf and the Coast of Mexico.  They even sponsored a Westsail Rendezvous in Puerto Vallarta that my wife and I attended, along with some other Westsailors.  They sold the boat to Roger Keys from AZ, but he kept the boat in San Carlos because that was a close harbor for him.

Thank you all for the welcome.  I will be going down to San Carlos in June to begin work on her.  I'll let you all know how it's progressing.  This is a pretty unusual situation.  The boat was pretty much a gift and I haven't even seen Pacific High in person.  I have friends down there who have checked her out for me and the reports are pretty positive.  So far I know I will need to replace the through hulls and do a lot of scrapping and painting.  The electronics are old, the engine is a low hours Beta, standing rigging needs to be gone through, sails are reported as pretty good shape.  I guess I'll know more when I get there.
