Well it looks like the rain has stopped and the days are warming up in SoCal - it feels like it's been a long winter...

There's been a lot discussion about a SoCal rendezvous but nothing yet agreed upon.   Feels like we may be running out of time to reserve slips and make other arrangements.  We'd like to take advantage of the opportunity to get together with other Westsailors this year, maybe we can make some final commitments in the next couple of weeks?

    Can't wait to get together.

Still no progress in San Diego. I have contacted several yacht clubs and none of them will sponsor anything without membership. The only option would be anchoring in one of the moorings and shuttling people to and from a raft of Westsails. I'm up for heading north as far as Newport, but any further north will be attending without Satori.

Hey Tony , have it at the Police dock everyone will have their own slip and you will all be next to each other , have a dinner / party at the Kona Kai bar . Also ,  within walking distance (and much better IMO) is the Point Break restaurant , also with a party room not to mention killer food and drink .

    To all:

I contacted the Oceanside Harbor department last week, they have 20 guest slips that can be reserved up to 60 days in advance.  I know we held a rondy in Oceanside once before but Nancy and I didn't have a boat then and didn't attend. I assume it's a reasonable option but maybe someone else has a different opinion. Oceanside, half way between Long Beach and San Diego, may be a good compromise for boats north and south.

Based on responses in this post, it looks like we may only have a few boats thinking about sailing in for a rendezvous.  If that's the case, then we may be able to secure a couple of slips or end ties in our Newport Beach marina. I know that kind of space would be very limited so I'd need an exact count to be able to confirm with our dock master.  However, last time I checked, there were slips available at the Newport Beach marina park facility.  If there's interest in a Newport Beach rondy, I'll re-check on availability.

A date, sometime at the end of May or early June, seems like it would work.  Look forward to hearing from other.
