2013 Rendezvous So Cal.

    Hi, thought I would talk about the 13' Rendezvous a little early. I would like to propose Catalina Two Harbors (the Isthmus cove).                                                                 
    Here are my thoughts, If we could all get to the east end of the cove,  we could all be together. Plus you can anchor very near there for those who would like that. I think it would be a little hard for all of us to get together at the west end of the cove. As for activities ,
    I think a beach party would be a nice shift from the norm. Of course there is the restaurant. And the snack shop.
    I know this is a little different(not being in a marina) but like norm says a little shift.
     What do you think ? Norm we already know what you think.

    Fellow Westies, on second read of my post it sounds like I don't want to hear from anybody if you don't agree with the Isthmus .
    Please I didn't mean it that way at all. When I was typing , I used norm twice so it just seemed kind of funny to say the norm thing . My apologies.
     
    Also maybe the Isthmus would not be such a good spot because people couldn't drive.
    I do remember one Rendezvous that was held at Avaoln in October . That I think would  be better.
    Here is a little trick I would like to share , In October during Buccaneer Days at the Isthmus , I can get into Avalon because a lot of people are at Buck Days.
    So maybe the traditional 3rd week in May and then a low key get together in Oct. at Avalon.

    Mark: sounds interesting -- and you can edit and delete your posts if you need to... Kirk Brown and Terry Shoup usually host the SoCal rondy and I'm sure would be interested in your ideas... That said it doesn't take more then 2 Westsails in the same spot to hold a rondy - cruises post rondy are great also... 

    Keep the ideas going...

    Hi Jay, yes your right we should let Terry and the other guy decide on the Rendezvous.

    Mark:  how about asking how you can assist in the event... seems gathering the westsailors in So Cal is the tough part.

    I like the idea. Iv been to two of them and my Westsail dident even float then.
