Fuel Fill Hose Replacement

I am replacing my fuel fill hose.
I have the original galvanised westsail tanks, the inlets aren't directly beneath the bronze fuel deck fills. They are offset by about 4 inches with very limited space above the tops of the tanks. The current flexable hose basically fell apart in my hands. Before I started the project I bought about 3 feet of premium ridgid fuel fill hose.
Should I buy some flexable hose or re-drill some new holes and relocate the deck fills using the ridgid hose?
It seems sensible for me to re-locate but I am puzzled and wonder if I am missing something because maybe it was westsail's intentions.

    What does your boat have?

    Thanks,
    Carl

When we replaced our tanks the fuel inlets were about an inch off the deck pipes.  We had to adjust the positioning of the tanks just a bit to get it right.  We used some pretty standard hose to connect up to the tanks.

If your fills are that far off, you might want to try to adjust the position of the tank a bit.  Some tanks are secured with metal "straps" that hold them on the shelf while others are held in place by blocks that where put around the tank.   If moving the tank isn't an option I'd check on the flexible hose before cutting a new hole.  You only fill fuel tanks once every "how often" ?   Anything that holds up to diesel reasonably well will get the job done but you might have to pour a little slower.

    Tate,
    Good advice.
I wasunaware that the tanks may have adjustment fore and aft.
    I'll check it out.
    Thanks
