I'm new to both sailing and my WS32. I have a loose foot self-tacking hank on stay sail and am wondering if there is a protocol for storing the sail without fully removing it and bagging between sails? Leaving it flaked on deck seems like an invitation to troubles, but as a single sailor - re setting it on each voyage and while underway also seems like a danger if there is any wind.

Hi Robert , congratulations on your new to you W32 . For our staysail we have a boom so I flake it on the boom and I have a cover for it just like a main sail . If you don't want to get a boom (a lot of people don't use one) you could get a bag (cover) made up , it should have a opening at the top and a opening at the front so you can put it around the head stay with the sail still hanked on . You drop the sail in and then close it up with toggle buttons . It should also have a attachment point so you can lift it up off the sprit  . There is a picture of what I'm talking about , on the home page it is the green boat on the left .

Good luck and thanks for joining the WOA .
