Looks like the wind has died on the fleet ... here is Danis note this am.

    Hey guys,

Just a quick note to let you know that Randy is having problems with the sailmail and the wind. Sailmail simply stopped working (he is not sure if/when he will be able to fix it) and there has been no wind in the past 12hours. He is very frustrated and upset, but he is ok.

I will keep you posted as soon as I hear from him again.

    Dani
Some of the small boats have been hand steering for the last 3 days.... out of power for the electronics as there isn't much sun for the solar arrays.

    Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know that Randy's Sail Mail (email service for yachts via satellite) hasn't been working for the past couple of days, he is also very frustrated with the lack of wind.

Aside from that he is well and in good spirits.

    Cheers, Dani

    Hi everyone,
Randy's sail mail is still not working. He is still in good spirits and appreciates very much the messages of support.
    Cheers, Dani

As many of you were asking me (Dani) about, here is some information about the boat that has finished already.

    Morning guys!

Randy says hi and he wishes he could share with you all his stories from this amazing adventure. He also decided to stop trying to fix Sail Mail (it is still not working), be frustrated about the wind and enjoy the journey.

He is in good spirits and things are going well, although yesterday morning a squall  ripped up one of his drifters...

I'm flying tomorrow to Hawaii and I will keep you posted as I get more news.

    Cheers! Dani

News from Dani - now in HI...

    http://singlehandedtranspac.com/updates/

I'm not sure if you've seen this. Derk from Bela Bartok was rescued earlier today because he was sick.

It is very sad that he had to leave the boat behind, Bela Bartok is his home - can someone just go and get the boat for him?

Anyhow, I've learned that from Randy, I've just landed and there was a message from him about it ( he wanted to assure me he is ok).

Based on the tracking site - Randy has crossed the finish line.

Dave King is in the area and is sailing Tortuga back to SF - no word on the abandoned boat.
