Some notes on the cutlass bearing:
1,) the freezer is a good thing! (leave it in the box it came in, and don't take out until install at boat). = keep as cold as you can, but not below 0 F
2.) I made a wooden driver for mine (dowel the size of shaft and some type of tube = Larger than the od of the bearing but fits tight on the dowel) It is nice to be able to put some effort with sledge if needed. ( I did have to swing pretty hard)
3.) Make sure the hole is clean (ck for the set screws on the sides) and make sure there are no filings or ?
4.) for my install I used a small propane torch to heat the shaft log (just enough that the outside is hot to the touch but you can hold your finger on the outside for a little bit) est 140F
5.) Quick is the only option = once started, it needs to go home in less than 10 seconds
lastly A CAREFUL use of the sawsall in two places 180 apart will get the old one out. Note do not saw all the way to the log = (1/128" Thick can be bent out in two parts if you cut it in 2 places)
Hope this helps
also If Svens does not have it, NAPA marine or KKMI should? I did order mine online as it was a little less $$$
