Boom gooseneck fitting

    I'm looking for one of these. The boom section is a LeFiell 106L which means it is a 5"x3.5"  section.

    Hi Jay, LeFiell has unfortunately gone out of business and Minneys doesn't have one. I'm hoping someone is parting out a boat.

    Seth, who posted that he had a boat in parts does not respond to email....hoping he sees this.

    Bad news on LeFiell - totally out of business -- wish they would change their web site to match... the marine pages are still active. 

    Short of a midnight event:)  Those parts look like "easy" CNC job... but more $$ for sure.

    Gary,

    I believe I have a complete pair of the gooseneck fittings you need.  Can you confirm the diameter and length of the shaft on the fork piece that passes thru the cast end fitting on the boom? (On the left side of your photo)   The piece I have has a pin 5/8" dia and 2 3/4" long.

    The body measurements match yours.

    Were you able to use the staysail boom I left you a few years ago?

    Yipeee!! That is wonderful news. I still have the staysail boom in my garage. I had intended to install it on my boat, but never got around to it. It has become one of those projects that will happen one day. One of the reasons is, my Kern staysail is cut to be free flying. Eventually I would like a bigger staysail that would be flown on the boom.

    The pin diameter where is passes through the casting is not important, does yours have a place for a shiv used for the outhaul on the casting? No matter if it doesn't.

    Please let me know how much you want for the gooseneck, and thanks again

    Gary,

    I fear this may be false hope I have the S/S gooseneck pieces, not the cast Boom fitting piece.  I have tried to send a photo of what I have to your Gmail account.  I have never been able to get photos to attach in this forum.

    What happened to your current one?  The reason I ask is because I did some work to mine, including: making new pin for the pivot, and because the fasteners were seized to the casting I had them drilled out, press fit plugs welded, re-drilled and tapped.

    Tyler, mine is currently a casting with two "ears" that bolts to the stainless gooseneck piece. The design does not allow the boom to rotate and I think its a weak point as the ears could easily be snapped off. So. I'm wanting to go to the rotating type
