Fiberglass cap rails

    We are currently hauled out and Dave King is nearly finished with fairing our keel/rudder. Next project is glassing over the cap rail. We have the old cap rail torn off and nearly prepped for epoxy. Here's a link to a photo album for the cap rail. We will add to it as the project progresses.

    Is Dave doing the caprails also?
    No doubt that your teak rail was a headache and that glassing is a great solution.

    Does Dave work for beer or cash? I need his expert hands on my hull but all i have is beer.

    Well I've offered food, beer, and vanilla lattes but CASH is the only item he accepts...  Sorry, we're in the same boat!    [\:-)
    As to the question: is Dave doing the cap rails?  John and I  did all the demolition, cleaning and prep work, but side by side, Dave will be instructing the layups, sanding, painting and genoa track reinstallation.   One should be a quick learner to keep up with the expert;  or pay more to do nothing.  ~Diane

    We finished  glassing, painted, and completed the teak eyebrow.  Sorry, I have just these pictures to post at the moment, haven't had time to transfer all the pictures to the Picasa with write-ups.  Just a couple of quick shots of the preliminary stages of the eyebrow.  John finished sanding yesterday and applying cetol this week.  We've had a lot of people asking where we are on the project so want to let them know we actually were working on it.  A BIG THANK YOU to Dave, my guy pal, for your endless patience with me as a beginner in glasswork, you are the best to work with.  ~ Hugs, Diane
