It's certainly an "interesting project". isn't it? And the strangest W32 I've ever seen. Had it not been for the hull number, I wouldn't have believed it was even a WS kit boat.

This looks very much like the boat built in Alviso in the middle to late 70s. I cannot rember his name but the opening between the bulkheads are his. It was in a building where Ivan Cady, Alviso Boat, kept a shop. I will try to find the name.

When we kept our boat in Half Moon Bay for five years starting in 1994 it was there.  We never got to talk to the owner but were told by those that knew him he was getting it ready for sailing to the arctic or antarctic.  He foamed areas like the gunnels etc.  It actually didn't look that bad but was weird looking.  It never left that we know off.

On a side note there is the Freya 39, Arctic Alfa Wolf, sailed by Jerry Brodicus who single handed to the Arctic circle four times and is in the same harbor. He has been featured in the magazine Latitude 38.

    Hi everyone!
I am selling the project on Ebay. She's a mess...and needs some things , but the hull is solid , no soft spots on deck , the interior ( I think ) is laid out pretty nicely for offshore work , and has a lot of extras. She's no   Gold-Plater...yet...but it is my hope that someone without a lot of money ca get themselves into a good cruising boat.
here's the link:  and my number: 323 450 5433  ....I'm going to head North and show her to a few folks on Friday and Saturday.

Not exactly two rudders.  Actually, the rudder is split vertically into a main part, and a trim tab part.  With two wheels to be able to turn and trim each part independently.

Yes, this builder certainly did have some very different ideas, but that has always been the case with independent boatbulders over the years.

I have seen a lot of different ideas incorporated on Westsail hulls, but I will have to say this one is the strangest one of all.  (so far anyway)
