Hi from New Zealand. How we wish we could be there for this Rendezvous. Unfortunately we are stuck here in Russell in the beautiful and windy Bay of Islands. At the moment gusts of 70 knots with this stalled winter storm. We are however snug on our mooring and sheltered.

We were lucky enough to attend the first west coast Canadian rendezvous in 2012 and met Bud. My husband Holger promised me that when we bought Melody that we would take her to Canada. So he sailed her non stop from Russell N.Z. After a summer of cruising around the Gulf Islands with friends we joined the get together the week before we sailed back to N.Z. A bit of a flying visit, away from home and back again in 9 months. A bit of a stop in Rarotonga, and a couple of weeks in Tonga for a taste of the tropics.

We throughly enjoyed the opportunity to crawl over and look in the nooks and crannies of the other Westsails attending. We even had Bud show us how to rig our trysail.
A great organization and I do have the desire to see how other boats cope with their  leaky cap rails. Pity it is so far away. Maybe sometime in the future we will have to sail there again. Maybe attend the PNW rendezvous.

Is there anyway to get some of the ifo from this gathering on composting toilets etc?
    Regards and thanks again,

    Roz and Holger. W32 Melody.
