    Hello,

My family and I are buying a w32 but before the survey is done I have a concern. Inside the v-birth on the headliner (teak I think) the strips of wood are buckling, is this a sign of over tight rigging?

Also where can I find out the history of this lovely girl? She is up here in the puget sound and she is hull number 731 and advertised as a 1977. It's priced low so I am a little apprehensive as to why.

You are asking in the proper sub forum (ask bud), in the meantime you could email Bud with the name of the boat, current owner, hull number and any other info available.
His email is on this forum as well as his website Worldcruiser.
You have alot to learn, get ready, you'll be busy but it's great stuff.
You have great taste in boats.

Get your survey done before you buy it. Period.

Ah thanks people for the advise.

I got ahold of Bud and he gave some info on the old girl.

My survey was done today and found some nasty's but I think my wife and I can tackle them.

The leaks that caused the water damage inside the cabin were primarily from the windows and hand rails on deck. Ill re bed all the things on deck and then begin the interior repairs.

The motor is original and still runs fantastically, that said I will be looking into a transplant.

Blisters on the rudder and a hull are small and not to serious as I was told. Ill repair them when the season is right.

Otherwise she is looking good and after a week or two of cleaning she might be presentable again.

So....does that mean she is yours? I hope so. It is always nice to see Westsails getting new life.
