Thanks for the memories on my 80th birthday today

I don't know who put everyone up to it, but about a week ago the birthday cards started arriving, all with pictures of their boats, and thanking me for my help over the past 40 or so years I have been dealing with the Westsail boats.

So far, 15 cards, 10 emails, and some phone calls, and no one will tell me who spilled the beans and got you owners, and one past owner, to send me a greeting.  I even threatened one owner to cut him off if he didn't tell, however when he said he was looking for a new engine for his Westsail, I quickly changed my mind.  Greed, you know.

I just guess you won't let me retire and go gracefully into the sunset on the wings of a Westsail, so I will continue answering, packing, shipping, going to rendezvous, hobbling around overseeing engine installations and doing surveys.

Thanks to all of you, the 800 or so that I have on my Westsail owners liist.  Still looking for the other 300 or so, out of the 1100 boats built by Westsail.

Even the home page was changed - I'm shocked... Shocked I tell you.

Jay,  I thought it was you that spilled the beans and let owners know I was 79-95.

    Thanks anyway.

    Bud,
We corresponded about 8 times via email over the past 4 years while I was a future buyer of a W32.
I now proudly own a great W32 and you helped me with your advice at obtaining my final sailboat.
Thank you so very much for your kindness and for your appreciation for the boat that you are a huge part of its being.
    Your Friend,
    Carl

Now that my birthday is past, I want to thank everyone who send cards, pictures of their boats, emails, and phone calls.  About 25 cards, 10 emails, and five phone calls.

In looking at the series of pictures Jay put up on the WOA website, who is that skinny hippy guy with all the hair, and that good looking young honey next to him, posed in front of a boat they just completed building and are ready to launch ? .Hard to believe that was about 35 years ago.

    Sorry I missed your birthday.

I wanted to thank you for all the help you have given me over the years with Jasmine.

We both are better for it.
