Below is a slide show of some neat Westsail 32 and Westsail 42 models - these are made by the folks at Abordage Co  and I have a Denis Cartier at 809 528 1992 ext 100 or 877 779-0114 as a contact.

This is a commercial enterprise and the WOA is NOT involved in anyway with the company - but we thought that members may be interested in their unique services.

I've made my own half-hull model of my boat and decided to inquire about their rigged models: i.e. price, details, painting, etc.   I have thought that if there is enough interest, it might be practical for me to put together a kit that owners could assemble and detail to match their own boats, but with the wide variation in W32 details (hatches, winches, bowsprits, boomkins, wind vanes, solar panels, rigging, decks, etc) it might be too difficult.  The hull and deck/coachroof molds are the least of the problem.   If anyone has ideas let me know.

My 16-inch half hull was built up in the "sandwich" method (six layers of ash, cut and sanded) and took quite a few hours of work.  I've considered using it to make a mold to enable me to lay up duplicates in fiberglass/resin, but I've never done it before.   If there is enough interest, I would give it a try.  I have no idea what it would cost to do, but I would think no more than $100 or so for each casting.  The molds would have to be cleaned up, primed and painted.  -Tom Koehl
