Does anyone have stanchions mounted inboard of the bulwark?  Mine are (no pix) and its preventing me from making a shelf for water jugs unless I go outboard with them

Not all Mark.  The first group of boats that were made from the original deck mold made by Kendall just after Snyder took over had stanchions set thru the caprails.  This was later changed when Westsail made the next deck mold.  I know because I was there.
