Hi,

I just bought a W42 and I’m shopping around for insurance.  I’m finding it hard to find an affordable rate for a boat this age.  Any recommendations?  I plan to remain in American waters for the time being, possibly a Bahamas trip.

We've used State Farm for our boats.  According to my agent, age is not an issue if you have a current survey showing the vessel in sound shape.

We are on the West Coast.  Our State Farm policy covers us from Cape Spencer Alaska to Ensenada Mexico and up to 75NMI offshore.   I don't know what the limits might be on your coast.
