Per messages from Jerome, he got hit by a rogue wave northeast of Bermuda.
Keel in the air, mast submerged.
He is OK and heading to Bermuda.
He was in week two of doing a Atlantic figure eight.
    Here are his latest messages:

I've never been so confused in my life as when I woke up this morning! So many things to fix and clean. Engine works, sails work and mongo works, to Bermuda!

The mast made the dip ok somehow. Just a random giant wave with perfect timing. I was down below and lucky I didn't get hurt. Game plan come soon.

Jerome was able to limp into Beaufort, S.C.

Seems to be in good spirits.

Looks like mounting the boom gallows on the caprails is not as strong as through bolting on the deck.

Thanks Ed for keeping us up to date.

I'm thinking that bolting the boom gallows thru the caprails and the caprail joint would be much stronger -- but the ocean is very powerful!!

Agreed, Jay. It was hard to tell the state of his hull to deck joint status. He had his solar panels attached to the gallows.
We’ll learn more about the wave incident soon. But if the keel was out of the water it sounds as if it was a serious event.
