    Hello Everyone,

WE are looking to purchase a W43 or W43 or perhaps a W42. Years ago ( late 70's ) our family had purchased a W32; however, because of a dishonest broker and I gather problems at Westsail factory, we never received the W32. Eventually, we were able to get the hull and had it shipped to Shelburne, Vermont in early 80's. I kept it for a while, then sold her. I do not remember the hull number, perhaps in the 700 # range.

First would anyone at WOA perhaps have any knowledge or know of someone that purchased a W32 in Vermont. It would be fun to know what has come of the W32.

Secondly,I have been reading the various topics on the WOA site, trying to absorb available information.

I would like to ask WOA members for input, opinions, sailing characteristics what to look for, certain year vessel better than others, desired upgrades, layouts, etc. Any and all information and opinions would be great.

Thirdly, we are up in the Seattle area and it would be great to meet some Westsail owners and be able to view some boats if that would not be too much inconvenience.

Hope all had a wonderful Christmas and have a great New Year.

    Best to all.

    Regards,

    George and Nancy

Would be best to ask specific qsts. I've owned a WS 32 and now a WS 42. Basically on the 42/43  avoid teak decks IMHO, larger diesel - the 85 hp, tall rig,  newer models have the bowsprit straight off the cap rails not set lower.  Most other info would be the same for any boat of the same vintage.  Have fun looking.
