Namaste has just received new hand rails made of 1" ss tubing. Not sure if it makes her safer bur certainly feels that way ;-)
It also happened to be a very economical and easy project. 2x 6m tubing at $10/m - $120,
6x 1" Tee fittings at $20 a piece - $120, 2ft of ss tube that takes the 1" tube inside - $10, bolts and nuts $10, couple of beers for a welder friend. So $260 altogether plus nice time spent with the friend drinking that beer ;-)
I fabricated the end fittings to avoid welding on the boat, especially on the bowsprit side where the nav lights wires are inside the tube. The tubes were bent on a spare wheel of a SUV, 2 people, about 10 min each.
