With whatever bottom paint you are going to use, you should use the primer that the paint manufacturer recommends to use with their products.  Less chance of problems of the paint not adhering.

    If you go to the web site of the paint manufacturer for specific paint you plan to use, you can usually find a link to a datasheeet for the product.  I believe some of the older paints had to splash in order to cure, they stayed wet until they were.  A good number of paints today are multi-season and to the best of my knowledge do not require the vessel to be launched directly after application.  The manufacturer is the best source for this info.
