In 1968 responding to a newspaper sponsored challenge, the Golden Globe, Robin Knox-Johnston sailed Suhaili, a Westsail 32 look-a-like, singlehanded non-stop around the world, becoming the first person to do so.
A commemorative race is proposed for the 50th anniversary of this event in 2018....

This is a very interesting proposal. The conditions are exclusive, duplicating Sir Robin's achievement. For example, boats are limited to about 17 "types", 32 to 38 feet long including Westsail 32s, that being the type of boat Suhaili was. Entries are limited to 20, vetted for experience. Manual navigation. And yes, sail around the world from Falmouth UK without stopping.
