Randy's announcement needs more details about the SHTP.

From the Singlehanded Sailing Society web page...

"The Race will start on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at a time to be specified in the Race’s Sailing Instructions. The course will be from the starting line located near the Corinthian Yacht Club in San Francisco Bay, leaving the south tower of the Golden Gate Bridge to port, then by any course to the finish line located near Pu'u Poa Point at Hanalei Bay, island of Kauai, Hawaii. The calculated distance for the Race is 2,120 miles"

This is the same race that Dave King ran in 2010  and placed 2nd overall.
