I've got a new mainsail coming and I'm thinking of also installing a TidesMarine Strong Track mainsail system with the new sail.  Do any Westsail owners have this system on their boats and are you happy with it?

Hello Kevin,  Yes,  I have a Tides Marine sail track system on Saraband.  Everything works good.  The sail goes up and down with no problems.  All very effortlessly.  I did regret that I was adding weight to my rig but I honestly can’t tell that that issue has effected the sailing performance.  The system is not that heavy.   There is also an issue of longevity.  I installed mine in 2016 and there appears to be no deterioration at this time, but talk on the sailing forums say there may be at about 10 years.         You will need to use the system’s supplied sail slides.  Not a big problem installing them yourself but the sail maker may be able to help you out there.  They will need to know ahead of time of course.      Good luck,  Dave

Hi Dave, thanks for the response!!

If its got your blessing then I'm going to follow your lead!  I also posted this on Facebook and got one negative response related to longevity and a couple positive responses.   I'm looking forward to the new mainsail the old one was the original and was getting pretty tired.
