       Ahoy there.

Got a question maybe someone knows about. I just bought my self a 32 a few months back and still just seems to good to be true you know? Got a good deal on her and with all good deals come other deals... But I'm not scared. One of my projects is making a tabernacle base and am wondering what to do about the mast wiring, like where to put the hole with a short stub of maybe 1" aluminum pipe maybe two or three inches long. Would it be better forward or aft of the 1" stainless pivot pin, a little of to one side or???

    Thanks Jason.

Hi Jason , welcome to the club . We have a tabernacle base . IMO the hole location should be aft , not because of the pin but because the forward part of the mast will chop the thru tube . That happened on our W 28 and we did have the forward part cut out but not enough . If you could make a mock up of that to test , you could save yourself some grief . Another thing that comes up around here is that back in the day the pivot pin and the compression tube did not have enough clearance . It gets stuck from corrosion and is very difficult to remove when you have to . I hope that helps , good luck with your new boat and keep us posted , Mark .
