Portlight Glass

    I need to replace the glass in a 6 inch portlight.  The local glass company does not do safety glass, so I'll have to try and buy it online. I won't try to take it apart until I have replacement glass.

    Does anyone know the exact diameter for the 6" portlight glass?  How about thickness? Do you know of an online source for custom safety glass?

    How about Lexan with anti-scratch coating; has anybody considered that?

    Try Select Plastics in Norwalk, CT 203-866-3767.   They offer cut round safety glass in clear or bronze.  You can also send them your portlight lid and they will do the replacement for you.

    If you are in S. CALIF area  .....San Diego Plastics in Chula Vista can make any size/shape port light you require. Not glass though.
