I hauled today.  The rudder shoe looks to be in pretty poor shape.  Any comments suggestions or tips regarding the removal and servicing of the shoe on a W43?  It looks to be very corroded.  It holds the rudder in place and bolts to the bottom of the rudder.

    Thanks

Here is the rudder shoe from Ted Crockers - Niniwahuni W43 - hopefully he will post about his work on his rudder shoe.

Here is a brand new in Robert Suttons blog of his W42  being built from a bare hull.

I noticed that he has a pattern - mabe he has a way to make a new one?

Wow.  Thanks.  That really helps.  Turns out it's not so bad.  Once I stripped all 55 million layers of paint, barnacles, and goo I am OK until my next haulout in 2 years  during which time I'll drop the rudder and do an overhaul.
