The group purchase discount applies when all the gears are the same, since it costs less to fabricate a number of identical gears at the same time. A few Bristol Channel Cutter owners joined the previous group purchase initiated by Westsail owners because both boats use the same
Toucana model, only the length of the mounting arms was different on account of a different height of boomkin above waterline. There were 23 orders in all, and we gave a 25% discount.
Our normal discount for 3 identical gears (or more) is 15%, 20% for 8 and 25% for 15 or more.
There is no form to fill, as long as owners mention the group purchase and we receive the minimum number of orders, confirmed with a $500. deposit. Balance is not due until the gear is ready for delivery.
Naturally, we will not be able to deliver discounted orders until after the usual rush of orders in Spring, as we have to complete orders who pay the whole amount ahead of others. We could not deliever those discounted gears until the end of July, as my partner Eric, who builds the gears, has decided to take a 3 week vacation at the beginning of July, his first vacation in more than 5 years.
