Running Rigging Sizes

At long last and after almost 3 years of projects, we are about a month away from launching our restored WS 42, Harmony!  While we won't have all of the finish varnishing done, and will more than likely continue to update items after a shakedown of our efforts this summer, we will finally get the old girl wet.

Anyway, I need to replace every bit of running rigging on our WS 42 ketch.  I have studied Bud's manual, but want to verify that I will be installing the correct size line for halyards and sheets, etc.  As Bud' manual states, the following line sizes are appropriate for the WS42:

Halyards:  Main, Staysail, Jib and Mizzen @ 7/16''

Spinnaker/Drifter Halyard:  we do not have one, but would assume the 7/16" would be the choice

Topping Lifts:  Main and Mizzen @ 7/16" - this isn't mentioned in Bud's manual, but I would assume this size or maybe 3/8"

Sheets: Main, Staysail, Jib, and Mizzen @ 1/2" - This seems a bit big for the mizzen, but want to make sure.

Thanks for the input and/or verification.

We have a tall cutter rig W42, but I would think the rigging should be similar.  Our topping lift is 3/8", halyards and sheets are all 1/2".  Outhaul is 3/8".
I agree that 7/16" would probably work.  We've replaced probably 95% of the running rigging on Abake.  Used the same size as we took off....

Mike, thanks for your reply!  Our boat yard was finally able to haul the spars out to the shed and put them by the boat.  While working on the boat I looked over the masthead fittings on both the main and mizzen, and from a rough eyeball measure, I agree that 1/2 inch would work, as it does in your case.

Thanks again!  I will be procuring all of the running rigging in the next couple of weeks.  Ah, what a way to tie one on!!!
