Maricole, a one of a kind Westsail 32, is for sale. What makes Maricole so unique? Unlike other Westsail 32s, which were launched close to when they were produced and have seen many miles under their keels, Maricole was built in 1976 but not launched until 2010. She was purchased from the factory and trucked to Indiana to be finished out. The gent who bought her was a retired GE tool and die maker whose dream was to fit out his Westsail and “go sailing”. He labored over her for well over 30 years, fitting each piece of interior cabinetry exactly to the thousandth of an inch. Where many Westsails are a bit dark below decks, Maricole is light and bright and finished in white with mahogany, teak, cherry, holly, caning etc. In 2009 her original owner, never having put her in the water, decided to sell his beloved boat. She was eventually purchased by a man who lived in Massachusetts and trucked from Indiana to just outside Boston. Here she made her inaugural splash but, after a season, her new owner decided that she wasn’t quite right for him and his growing family and put her up for sale. This is when we found her, fell in love and made her ours. We have enjoyed her for 7 seasons but have made the very hard decision to pass her along to her next lucky owner. Her sails still crinkle, her engine has extremely low hours (only a couple hundred), she has new/newer canvas, her bowsprit has been upgraded to stainless, her boomkin has also been replaced with stainless, and her interior is truly immaculate with a new propane stove/oven, like new cushions/lee cloths and an updated head. She has been lovingly maintained, including a fresh water flush of her engine after every use. Her teak hatches have been refinished annually while we chose to allow her other exterior teak to grey (it can easily be finished again if preferred). She has never had teak decks (a significant positive in our book). Perhaps I am partial but I am pretty sure she is a one of a kind boat. Many spares will be provided to the right buyer, including large and small parts for the Volvo MD2C, and, if needed, a dingy can be included. Pictures are available via this link https://photos.app.goo.gl/z3dAPCaFkzVwm06m2 as well as my attempt at a spec sheet. She is offered at $54,900 (USD), serious inquiries only please via maricole32@gmail.com. Thank you, in advance, for your interest.
