Bud/Jay/ or anyone else..............When I installed the B38 in Tamzin (W32) several years ago I reacall Bud had me fill out a performace grid, ie KTS at various RPMs in still water.  I assume he had other 'new installs' do the same thing and was wondering if the data has ever been compiled into an 'average' performace curve or data set.  I think it would be a handy thing to have as a very good indicator of hull or prop fouling.

I have a Beta 38 in my Westsail,  I could do that with may Westsail when I get a chance.  BTW Larry,  That picture of Tazmin is one of my favorites of a Westsail underway.

    Larry:

Bud is on a cruise and will be back in a week or two...

There are  lot of variables that can affect those numbers - as you might imagine.

Looking at my YouTube channel...I found a movie ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZ3CWvUHSkU - note that the gps speeds on the screen need to have 1.5K subtracted...for a following current.

Here is another movie sailing post fairing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcdrmwL70og

I usually get 5 K hull speed at 2000 RPM is calm water and no wind...

I'll look around or take some tests next time I have the right conditions.

    HTH

    Jay
