    Hi Bud,

I couldn't save my old engine and found a 43hp 2003T Volvo Penta replacement engine in very good condition. This was only decent available engine I could find here in Asia.

Engine has Left Hand propulsion and my 16x13 RH propeller needs to change. There are no 16x13 or 17x12 available here.

Only one I could find is 17x10 LH Bronze in good condition but it may add more RPM. Do you think this propeller would be suitable to use?

(Cost/availability is very strong factor in my decisions here in Asia)

    Thanks for your time

We had the same issue, but our new transmission gear ratio was the same in fwd and rev. Our solution was to reverse the control cable in the shifter.

I went through the same process.  Yes, the 17 X 10 prop will be just fine.  You can use it as it is.  The engine doesn't care.  It'll run at whatever rpms you set it.

First chance you get (or even now)  get a prop shop to repitch it for your engine and gearbox.

It seems like I will have to get and use 17x10 as it is. I won't be able to find a shop in the island to do any work on it. We'll see how it will go. Thanks for responses.
