    BTW: I gave up on Kiwi Grip and took your advice. I painted the non-skid with Floor Tex, an outdoor concrete paint which is made here in Florida using the Kiwi-Grip "Loopy Goopy Roller". Looks great and you can can get it tinted any color you want. Better yet, at 25 bucks a gallon it's 1/6 the price. Thanks!

    No structural reason you can't remove the chain locker bulkhead, however the lower portion, below the berth, does strenghen the support that the sampson posts give to the bowsprit.
