Ahoy!
Wanted to drop a line and say Happy new year and plant the seed of joining the San Francisco Bay Area Singlehanded Sailing Society.
Below is the upcoming 2015 race schedule and more information about the club. It would be great to have a few more Westsailors involved. (There are 3 of us) As far as events, the "races" are super low key and a great way to get out on the water. There are actually single and double handed divisions for each race so you don't have to be without crew if you prefer.
As far as cost, it is the best way to get involved in some fun race events and also allows you to enter other races without excessive fees such as the OYRA circuit. With membership you get to enter each SSS race without fees and get swag for every race! (shirts, hats etc)
Getting a PHRF certificate is easy and you can enter races as non spinnaker too if you prefer.

The first SSS event this year is the famous Three Bridge Fiasco and never disappoints for some zany racing by allowing you to cross the start line in either direction and then you decide which direction you want to round all three bridges.
Let me know if you have any questions and looking forward to seeing you on the water this year! (racing or not :)
Cheers,
Randy
