I know a retired woodworker here that is interested in making the belaying pins, as he has all of the necessary equipment and a lot of experience in turnings.
I had a piece of teak big enough to make three pins, and gave it to him so he can determine the time it takes to turn them and what he wants for his labor. I have a source here for teak, but they could also be made from some other wood to bring the cost down.
I will post the info as soon as he contacts me about the completed pins.
He also makes wood frames with LED lights for the interior of a boat, and had them aboard a W32 belonging to a friend of his that was at the So Cal rendezvous. Very nice looking and really reduces power consumption.
Anyone interested in the lights can contact him, Dave Morgan, at www.maritimeconcepts.com or dave@maritimeconcepts.com.
