We had our W42 Abake trucked from CA (Marina del Rey) to Annapolis MD.  We spent a lot of time getting quotes, making calls, waiting for calls back and in a lot of cases not getting calls back.  On the CA end we used Windward Yacht Center http://www.windwardyachtcenter.com/ , can't say enought nice things about them.  They let us do as much of the work as we wanted and were quick and efficient when we asked them for help.  Hauling was by http://www.jdanielmarine.com/  sort of a Mom / Pop operation.  Dan and Nancy were professional and on time.  Our cost was quite reasonable but we didn't have a schedule driving delivery and were able to wait for them to complete a delivery in San Francisco before swinging down to pick up Abake.  Good luck with your move.  Mike

We had our w32 trucked from LA to Manitoba ,Canada  for the sum of 7000.00 the boat was prepped by previous owner, and unloaded by us, only damage was a broken mast light and I could not even be sure if it was broken before, the driver was excellent with keeping contact, actually quite painless but very stressful . Of course getting it out of a backyard in LA was a different story altogether . Nothing in my life is easy!

My W32 shipped in on May 25th with no damage.  Larry did a very nice job of appropriately supporting the boat for shipment.  The only shocking piece was that he shipped it with a 2 ton daully truck.  That aside, he is very sensitive to road conditions.  If the road is rough he doesn't just barrel down the road and take the lasse fair approach.  No, he said that at times he was going 10 mph to lighten the shock of the load to the boat.  I found out that he is retired and does this for fun, and transports his own race sailboats all summer.  So he really cares for the condition of the boat throughout shipment.  I'd seriously recommend him.  Again, he is not the least expensive, but the value you get is overwhelmingly worth it.  Check out my blog of this project to see a picture of his set up and my comments.  I will entertain any questions from others whom are interested in Larry to ship their boat.
