Where is the best place for the straps? Should it be in line with the aft cabin bulkhead and the forward head bulkhead? Thanks for your help

Jean: On Pygmalion W32, the straps are under the aft cabin where it meets the deck and under the mast or just about where you suggested.

You also might want to connect the two lift straps together to prevent the forward one from slipping off the keel

When I had my 32 lifted I showed the operator a line drawing of the hull so he understood what he was looking at (he obviously saw a lot more fin keels and skeg-hung rudders). He eye-balled the location of the straps, and when he lifted it, he was almost perfectly balanced, according to the scales on the lift. He was a pro.

    Jean,

I will send you a picture of a W32 on a travelift so you can see where the straps are located.  Then put a mark on the hull just below the caprail where the straps should be.  Insist that the straps be tied together if the yard does not do that automatically.
