Hello Westsailors! I have just completed my rigging project. Namaste (W28) have received a new tubular bowsprit. There is so much room on the foredeck that I could play cricket there. The platform can double for a sea berth, it's co comfy... But the best of all is my new furling and self-tacking staysail. Did some see trials today. I've been broad reaching (full sail) on flat water at 16.5kt of wind and doing a comfortable 7.5kt with very little heel and almost no weather helm. Completely dry too. I then dropped the main and still remained above 6kt. A Wetsnail??? A Wet what???

I recommend you start up a goggle picasa account - you can use your current email and use the free space on google for your pictures.  Make an album and put your imges per subject in the album -- then you can link your images in picasa album to your posts with the "link" feature in the tool bar above.  Here I've turned on the bold.  Color  etc.

PIcasa is pretty cool with a local management sofware to help with uploads, posting from a smart phone etc etc.  You see the front page images -- they are from the WOA picasa site and show as a slide show.

    Jay's Picasa site.

    new account with Picasa

You can also up load images to your membership album - I've seen folks post images this way I think  but havn't done it myself.

Just poke around with google Picasa to learn how it works.

Hope the helps and I can assist if you need more assistance.

    Jay,

Thanks for the advice. I was trying to avoid getting involved with Picasa and all that to cut my time with computers, as I work in IT for living, but you've convinced me and I've dropped few pics there. After all they will be available to me anywhere I can get hold of computer and the Internet.

Let's stop building those boats and go sailing everybody ;-)

Wojciech:  I like your stack pack and the bowsprit work especially.  I'd like to embedd your site for the W28 group -- I've subscribed to your site as WOA - and I'd like to have  (via email) the slide show > embedded code and add it to the W28 members only > Multimedia page.

I may "steal" some photo's for use on the "images from members " page -- if you don't mind.

I'm the IT manager and Facilities manager at PASCO scientific in Roseville -- so I feel your pain.

Yup -- got to stop this web stuff as soon as there is reasonable weather and wind on the SF bay I'm sailing ....
