Last Saturday was like Christmas morning all over again, I pulled the shrink wrap off a W32 I purchased back in early December. Since that time I have been researching all I could find on owner finished boats. I read every blog, watched every vid, and scoured this forum for everything I could find on what could go wrong and needed to be fixed. Needless to say I was anxious to find out how many maladies my boat suffered from.

I was surprised to find out not that many. Yeah, it will take me quite a while to bring it up to 2015 shape but I'm used to that. I am finishing up a refit on an even older boat.

What I haven't been able to determine is the hull number. I spent most of an afternoon searching for the plate with the numbers for my boat. I'm hoping that someone in WOA might direct me on determining what hull number I have. The boat, Patti Belle was bought and built out by Bill Abell in Indiana and was kept it's entire life in South Haven Michigan.

I am excited to get working on this boat and would like to connect with other Westsail owners in the Great Lakes.

The HIN should be stamped on the stern,    I believe on the starboard side.

Bob: Welcome aboard --- the HIN number unless "removed" / filled in /never existed as described above.

Keep us up to date on what you find...

    Fair winds.
